Intermountain Health Joins as New Trustee of the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce

DENVER—March 5, Intermountain Health, a healthcare company dedicated to helping people live their healthiest lives possible, is expanding its engagement at the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce as a new Trustee, joining 16 other organizations as the Chamber’s largest investors. Every Chamber member is committed to community stewardship and supporting the economic empowerment of every Coloradan, and Trustees underwrite the work and missions of the organization: policy, economic empowerment, and leadership development.

“Intermountain Health is proud to join the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce as a Trustee. “We share the Chamber’s commitment to community stewardship and economic empowerment,” said Megan Mahncke, Intermountain Health’s Chief Marketing and Communications Officer. “What excites us most is the opportunity to work alongside other business leaders to drive positive change and promote the health and well-being of the communities we serve.”

Utah-based Intermountain Health merged with Colorado-based SCL Health in 2022, becoming Intermountain Health with headquarters in Salt Lake City and a regional office in Broomfield. The healthcare organization employs more than 65,000 caregivers and operates 33 hospitals and 385 clinics. Operating in Colorado, Utah, Idaho, Nevada, Montana, Wyoming, and Kansas, Intermountain Health was recently named one of six health systems in the U.S. to lead national efforts to improve patient outcomes for the most common conditions found in critically ill patients. With a mission to focus even more strongly on prevention and wellness and to improve the health of those who live in our communities, Intermountain Health is playing a major role in health care.

“Intermountain Health’s commitment to innovation and community wellness seamlessly with our priorities at the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce,” said Chamber President and CEO, J. J. Ament. “We are thrilled to welcome this nationally acclaimed healthcare organization as our newest Trustee. As we advocate for the well-being of our communities, Intermountain Health’s expertise will be invaluable in shaping strategies that promote long-term health and prosperity. Together, we will work to understand and address the evolving needs of our communities, ensuring a brighter, healthier future for Colorado.”

The Chamber is also excited to welcome Intermountain Health’s Region President, Jim Sheets, to its Board of Directors. Sheets brings nearly 26 years of healthcare leadership experience, which has helped drive successful outcomes in change management, strategic development, operational improvement, and positive physician relations.

“I’m honored and excited to be joining the board of the Denver Metro Chamber,” said Sheets. “I will work to bring my experience and expertise to the table, working alongside other business leaders to promote our communities’ economic empowerment and well-being. I look forward to collaborating with the Chamber to drive positive change and create a brighter future for Colorado.”

Most recently, Sheets served nine months as the group president for 10 Common Spirit Health hospitals in Colorado and Utah. At Intermountain Health, Sheets oversees and is responsible for all operations across the region, including Colorado, Kansas, Montana, New Mexico, and Wyoming.

The Chamber thanks Intermountain Health for its investment in us and its commitment to Colorado, and it looks forward to this new partnership.
