On October 6, 2014, the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce and its more than 20 partners hosted gubernatorial and U.S. senatorial debates focused on business and the economy—locally and globally—featuring incumbent Gov. John Hickenlooper and challenger Bob Beauprez as well as incumbent Sen. Mark Udall and challenger Rep. Cory Gardner.
Hickenlooper and Beauprez touched on state issues, such as education, energy, marijuana and labor, while incumbent Udall and challenger Gardner addressed topics of national concern, including immigration, tax reform and health care. POLITICO senior congressional reporter Manu Raju served as moderator for both debates.
The Denver Metro Chamber is a non-partisan organization that does not endorse candidates; however, the Chamber does engage on issues of interest to the business community and is an active advocate on behalf of Chamber member employees and employers.
