The spirit of this award is to recognize those businesses that have a history of outstanding business practices in the Denver community.

| Emerging Business of the Year |
|
The spirit of this award is to recognize those businesses that have truly defined entrepreneurship, personified success and have exemplified a unique business beginning.
|
| Minority-owned Business of the Year |
|
This award honors the entrepreneurship, sustainability, productivity and efforts of a minority-owned business (to include women-owned).

| Small Non-profit Organization of the Year |
|
The spirit of this award is to recognize an organization that improves the quality of life in metro Denver and partners with the business community to achieve its mission. (Must have less than $750,000 in revenue.)

| Large Non-profit Organization of the Year |
|
|
The spirit of this award is to recognize an organization that improves the quality of life in metro Denver and partners with the business community to achieve its mission. (Must have more than $750,000 in revenue.)

| Green Business of the Year |
|
The spirit of this award is to recognize those businesses that have developed innovative and committed practices for being an environmentally responsible business.
|
For each category, a group of up to three finalists will be selected and notified by early February. Finalists will be required to submit balance sheets and income statements for the last three years to the accounting sponsor, CliftonLarsonAllen, by late February. All information will be kept strictly confidential. The selection committee will conduct site visits with each finalist during the weeks of February 13 and February 20. The award recipients will be recognized at the Annual Business Awards Luncheon presented by Colorado Business Bank on April 27, 2012. The finalists will also be recognized at multiple Chamber events in the winter and spring.
