1. Why is the Chamber offering a health benefits plan?
The Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce introduced Chamber Health Plus to help members save money on one of their biggest expenses—employee benefits. More importantly, it can help Chamber members achieve long-term health improvement and increased productivity. Chamber Health Plus is an example of how the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce opens doors for members through ideas, resources and programs. The Chamber is Colorado’s business leadership dedicated to economic vitality and quality of life.

2. What is Chamber Health Plus?
Chamber Health Plus is a coalition of employers working together to control employee benefits costs and promote a healthy workforce. This innovative program is anchored by a health management program that offers incentives for successful wellness participation. Chamber Health Plus is for employers who want to take a greater role in making employee benefits better for business. Members must participate in a health management wellness program in order to enter the plan, stay in the plan and earn premium credits.

3. Is my organization eligible for Chamber Health Plus?
Chamber Health Plus is available exclusively to members of the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce who are fully insured and have between 51 and 300 employees.

4. My small business has fewer than 51 employees. Why can’t I join Chamber Health Plus?
Chamber Health Plus is a new program and its first phase is targeted at mid-sized employers. We are committed to developing a Chamber Health Plus program for employers with fewer than 51 employees. After all, small business represents a large portion of the Chamber’s diverse membership base, and it’s our goal to offer advantageous health and wellness programs for all members. Look for future announcements about a Chamber Health Plus program designed to address the needs of small employer groups.

5. How does Chamber Health Plus differ from the health plan I have now?
Chamber Health Plus is more than a typical health plan because it offers a fully integrated wellness program, including discounts and financial incentives for employers based on their health management participation and loss ratio.

6. How can I earn discounts with Chamber Health Plus?
There are several ways that employers can maximize their savings by participating in Chamber Health Plus. First, employers that are accepted into the plan may recieve a reduced rate upon enrollment. Next, employers can earn additional rewards for high employee participation in health management activities. Finally, performance-based renewals grant favorable renewals and annual renewal caps to employers with good ratios.

10. What types of health plans are available through Chamber Health Plus?
Chamber Health Plus offers seven plan designs from Anthem. There are two Health Management Organizations (HMOs), three Preferred Provider Organizations (PPOs) and two High Deductible Health Plans (HDHPs). This broad spectrum of plans gives employers the flexibility to choose a plan that meets their unique health care needs and budget.

11. What is Health Academy?
Health Academy provides Chamber Health Plus employers the tools to develop, implement and measure an employee health management program. Health Academy offers a proven, research-based health management approach to unify employers’ wellness efforts and health benefits strategies. Employers and employees who join Chamber Health Plus must complete annual health management activities. Health Academy delivers health management services on behalf of Chamber Health Plus. 12. Does Chamber Health Plus require extra work for my company and employees?
To reap the rewards of Chamber Health Plus, employers need to successfully implement the required health management program. This means that employers will need to accept the program’s goals, encourage employee participation and encourage a health-centered company culture. Employers and their Select Brokers are responsible for facilitating the health management program and meeting its requirements. Resources from Health Academy are available to help employers succeed.

13. Are current Anthem clients eligible to join Chamber Health Plus?
Existing Anthem clients may be eligible for the Chamber Health Plus program:

  • They must meet all requirements that any new client must meet, as well as all the standard requirements of the Chamber program.
  • Any re-rating would be because of a new anniversary date , a revised commission level, or a rate that would be in effect for more or less than a twelve month period.
  • The Chamber program has seven standard fully insured benefit plans , a group with another plan design or financial arrangement would be required to change to the plans being offered in the Chamber program .
  • If all the Health Academy criteria are met upon renewal the client would be eligible for the discount
