Public Policy
Colorado's Business Leadership

As business leaders dedicated to economic vitality and quality of life, the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce focuses on issues that impact Denver and Colorado’s businesses and citizens.

We think of our economy as a house with infrastructure, health care and education as the pillars that support the roof of economic development. When this house is set on a stable foundation, a healthy and thriving economy and business community is the result. The Chamber is committed to protecting and enhancing those pillars and our economy as a whole.

The Chamber's Public Policy initiatives provide some of the most visible evidence of our role as Colorado's Business Leadership. The Public Affairs Council and related committees create a forum for members to discuss and establish formal business perspectives and positions on public policy issues.

Areas of interest include: education, health care, multi-modal transportation options and funding, tax policy, water availability and storage, further development of Colorado’s space assets, and general business climate issues. Additionally, the Legislative Policy Committee keeps the Chamber actively engaged at the Colorado State Capitol, working with elected leadership to promote measures that are beneficial to Colorado's economic vitality and quality of life.

When necessary, the Chamber will establish and recommend formal positions on critical policy issues.  Endorsements or other official positions are recommended to the Chamber's Legislative Policy Committee and/or Board of Directors for final action.
