JUNE 19: Old Chicago Grand Opening in Broomfield: Please join Old Chicago restaurants in Broomfield beginning at 3 p.m at 1280 E. 1st Avenue. The Old Chicago menu has been revamped to shine the spotlight on the restaurant’s commitment to crafted, “craveable” items. Forty new product offerings have been introduced through this rebranding effort.  Among the new menu changes, a new tavern-style thin crust was introduced to complement the existing deep dish pizzas and the restaurant nearly doubled its salad selection with a combination of chopped and tossed salads, all with homemade dressings. Old Chicago guests may also choose from seven new appetizers, Panini sandwiches and an expanded pasta section.  Read more.

JUNE 25: SCREENING AND DISCUSSION OF MICHAEL APTED'S 56 UP: Please join GSS and our partners, Insignia Partners, A+ Denver, Colorado Children's Campaign, Colorado Succeeds, DFER, Stand for Children-Colorado, and Y.E.P. Colorado for an exclusive screening of 56 Up.
 56 Up is the most recent film from the remarkable documentary, The Up Series. Starting in 1964 with Seven Up, the original concept was to interview 14 children from diverse backgrounds from all over England, asking them about their lives and their dreams for the future. Every seven years, renowned director Michael Apted, a researcher for Seven Up, has been back to talk to them, examining the progression of their lives. Read more.


JUNE 26: GCG FINANCIAL TO HOST WOMEN'S NETWORKING EVENT: The event, titled Give…Connect…Grow/Weave…Network…Sew, aims to connect women professionals while also giving back to the community. It will be held June 26 from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Give…Connect…Grow is proud to showcase the Denver Art Museum.  GCG Financial has a strong belief in serving the communities in which we live and is encouraging attendees to provide a free-will, tax deductible contribution to the Denver Art Museum to help them fulfill their mission of strengthening the arts and cultural community in the Mountain West. Read more.

Kent Redding elected AfricAid Board President
Kent Redding, President of Africa Adventure Consultants and a three-year Board member of AfricAid (www.africaid.com), a nonprofit organization that supports girls’ education in Africa, has been named AfricAid’s Board President, the nonprofit announced. Read more.

Western water agencies respond to federal efforts to protect Colorado River
Officials from several of the West’s largest municipal water agencies joined forces with the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation (Reclamation) to find a long-term, systematic solution to the potential long-term imbalance between the Colorado River’s future supply and projected demands. 2013 Governor’s Service Awards Nominations Needed for Business Categories 
Serve Colorado – the Governor’s Commission on Community Service, is now accepting nominations for the 2013 Governor’s Service Awards. The Governor’s Service Awards are presented in recognition and appreciation to individuals, community/civic leaders, various organizations, and AmeriCorps members for their outstanding contribution to volunteerism and service throughout the State of Colorado. Nominations are especially needed for Outstanding Small and Large Businesses. Nominations will be accepted through Friday, June 21 at 5 p.m. Read more.

Platte River Networks honored as finalist for Level Platform's 2013 Innovator of the Year Award
Awards were announced at the recent Level Platforms’ 2013 All Partner Event. A list of over 3000 Partners was compiled and analyzed by the Level Platforms Executive team. Between four and six Partners were nominated for each of the five award categories, and the winners were chosen based on careful evaluation of the top contenders. Read more.
