The focus of this quarter’s program is hydraulic fracturing, otherwise known as fracking. Fracking is the water-intensive industrial process that drillers use to extract oil and natural gas held in shale formations. Increased oil and gas production through fracking can increase domestic production to improve energy security and create jobs in our economy. Nonetheless, there are questions about the impact of fracking on our environment in general and ground water in particular. Join us, as three experts on various sides of the issue shed light on the process and the most controversial aspects of fracking.
